THE hit 92.9 Kendrick Racing Team is gearing up for one of the biggest times of the year – and we are not just talking about when the jolly man in the red suit makes deliveries to everyone next Tuesday.
Apart from the festive season where we all get to spend time with family and friends – it is also a time to go racing here in WA with the first round of the USA v WA Sprintcar Speedweek to be held at the Perth Motorplex next Wednesday night – Boxing Day.
Team boss Geoff Kendrick said he was looking forward to the four-night challenge that also includes Collie Speedway on December 27, the Motorplex again on December 29 and Bunbury Speedway on January 1.
“It’s a priority on our calendar,” Geoff said.
“It is a time when we get to test our skills against American drivers who each basically contest about 100 race meetings a year and we are looking forward to the challenge.”
At the last show – the WA title – a few weeks back Jason was happy with the car and team performed, taking a second to World of Outlaws driver and national champion Kerry Madsen.
“In fact we are very happy with everything on our cars and our whole program,” Geoff said.
“Now it is time to knuckle down and start delivering some of the results we know we are capable of.”
As part of Speedweek the hit 92.9-backed team is fielding a car for American Mark Dobmeier who has raced with the team, with success in the past.
“Mark is part of the family and he is a seasoned campaigner with 248 feature race wins under his belt.
“I am sure he will be able to help Jason out a lot with his knowledge and together they should be able to take it to the rest of the competition.”
Geoff has welcomed the extended support from Telf Promotional Products that is sponsoring Mark’s tour.
As a result Mark is driving for the Telf Team USA car for the four nights.
“We have been working hard to ensure the cars are ready for the guys – and in fact each driver will have a spare car as well to make sure we are in a good position to win Speedweek.
“On behalf of everyone here at the hit 92.9 Kendrick Racing Team, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our sponsors and supporters a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year.
“Thank you everyone for your support.”
