After returning from a racing tour on our east coast, the hit92.9 Kendrick Racing Team is back and ready for the annual Westernapolis at the Perth Motorplex this Saturday night.
The trip east was a challenging one, with rain being the winner at shows the team entered at Sydney, Avalon and Mt Gambier.
Fortunately the rain held off for the annual Warrnambool Classic where on the first night Jason Kendrick raced from 23rd to 7th in the A Main, before having mechanical issues on the second night and ultimately a rim breaking when the #11 was looking strong in the B Main.
“We lacked car balance at Warrnambool but it was a good experience considering we hadn’t been there for five years,” team boss Geoff Kendrick said.
“While the rain got the better of a lot of racing, it was pleasing to see the country receive a lot of rain and it would have helped with the bushfire efforts.
“It was a good trip and we are looking forward to hopefully going on a similar trip next year.”
Now the team prepares for a busy local racing schedule.
“From what I hear, we have a good field of cars this weekend and we are looking forward to the challenge,” Geoff said.
“It’s the start of a big month of racing and we are definitely looking forward to a podium placing this weekend before the arrival of a lot of interstate drivers.
“And as we head into the busy local schedule it is a good time for us to thank everyone who made the trip east possible – we would not have been able to make it happen without the wonderful corporate support we receive from our local supporters.
“We look forward to seeing everyone down at the track at the Perth Motorplex this Saturday night.”
